My room is in a garage and it still has the garage door. Is there any cheap ways to make the door sound proof?

The door is metal. The room is about 400 SQ FT

Answers:

1I would put some Owens Corning Pink sheet insullation on it. Either use PL 400 contact cement to attach it to the door, or if you don't want to damage the door, then attach it using duct tape. I would use at least R10 value....once you see it in the store you'll see it comes in different thicknesses.

From: Michele Boddy

we are ripping out our 400 sq ft garage so my husband can play his drums. we put acoustical cellulose batting, mlv, and drywall on the three walls and ceiling. we kept the metal door but picked up some 4x8 acoustic panels off of craigslist ( from a lucas film studio remodel no less). we then prop the panels in front of the garage door and also hang acoustical curtains in front of the door. not a perfect fix but hopefully good enough
