whats the best way to sound proof from people above in an apartment

the woman upstais walks very load how can i stop the noise , i already talked to her it was no help...thanks tom how do you sound proof a ceiling ? if i only sound proof the bedroom will i still hear the noise if she is in another part of her apt ? thanks
