duroc on exterior wall for soundproofing low freq.

we are installing new acoustic insulationa and drywall in our garage so my husband can play is drums. i've heard its a good idea to glue duroc cement board to the interior side of the walls between the studs before insulating. apparently this adds more mass to stop the low freq. has anybody have experience with this? is it going to create a mositure issue on my exterior stucco walls (i.e., they cant breath- such as i've heard painting stucco is bad)?

thanks, michele
