New house. Thin walls. Need to sound proof most walls. An idea on cost and most effective plan or action would be really helpful as Im getting to the end of my tether! | |
We have just moved into a new house. The walls are so thin you can hear everything...phones ringing, televisions, guitar playing. I could go on! Do we have a case against suing the previous owner who did not declare this as a problem? Our house is only 5 years old. How much would it be to soundproof 3 rooms and what would be the most effective way of doing so?

do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? i came to this website because i have the same problem as you, i also moved into a home with very thin walls, but i'm not about to sue anybody over it. your home is still habitable and the fact that your walls are thin doesn't actually bring down the value of your home. i'm sure you toured the home before you bought it so you knew what you were buying. but then again this is america and you can pretty much sue anybody for anything, get a good lawyer and give it a shot. but i doubt you have a case.
