Soundproofing a dividing wall | |
A movable wall can be very beneficial when ever you need to temporarily divide your room into multiple parts. But there is no use of that wall if it does not block any sound. Can anything be done to soundproof a dividing wall? There is nothing impossible, but this task can be rather difficult. The first thing that you should think about even before the dividing wall is installed is the material used on that wall as some of the opportunities are better at blocking sound than other. Then, during the installation of the dividing wall, make sure that it is done properly and be sure to hire a company with good reputation. If already from the beginning there are problems with the installation of the wall and due to that it lets more sound waves go through that to fix it you have to hire somebody again either to fix the current installation or install the dividing wall again.
If you already have a dividing wall and it really does not block any sound, than it is advisable to cover it with some sound absorbing material. They are sold in most of the hardware stores and you can probably ask some advice from there.
