How can I minimize noise through floor? | |
Noisy neighbors downstairs can be really annoying; even you hitting the floor with broom stick do not work as they keep on having their parties and loud guests. If there is no help from the landlord, then to prevent moving out just because of the disturbing neighbors, you should do something about it. The best advice is for you to make the floor of you room as soundproof as possible and there are many different soundproofing materials that you could use for that to get the best result.
First of all, insert soundproofing foam into all the cracks and small openings that are in the floor. This foam will expand once inserted to an opening and so no noise will get through there. Second of all, you should by some soundproofing carpets or mats that can be laid under the carpets. These all come in different design and color and you can probably find the most suitable one from your local hardware store.
If you are planning bigger construction works and want to do the soundproofing really thoroughly, then you should think about installing soundproofing tiles below your normal floor. They are the most effective way how to prevent noise coming to you home from the floor.
